Policy

Clinical staff will obtain and maintain their clinical licensure and credentials. This includes obtaining the needed CEUs for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.

CAPS provides financial support for licensure, continuing education, and professional development for all staff, when funds are available.

Procedure

Licensure and Credentials

Clinical staff will submit a copy of their current license to the Office Manager each time it is renewed.  The Office Manager will maintain a log of this information and file a copy of the clinician’s license.

Reimbursement

The amount of money available for reimbursement will be communicated to staff prior to the beginning of each fiscal year.  When funds are available, CAPS will reimburse continuing education registration fees as well as other professional development and licensure expenses.  This includes web-based and home-study courses as well as programs attended in-person.  To seek prior approval for a proposed reimbursement, staff present a summary of the topic, venue, and cost to their administrative supervisor.  Once approved, the staff member incurs the expense and enters it in CONCUR to obtain reimbursement.

Staff who find an educational opportunity they wish to share with other staff members will speak to their administrative supervisor about how to facilitate this process.
