Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

MBCT is specifically designed to help prevent relapse for people who suffer episodes of depression, chronic unhappiness, and anxiety.

Participants become acquainted with the modes of mind that often characterize mood and anxiety disorders while also learning to develop a new relationship to them.

It is offered in a group setting and combines principles of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.

Duration: Nine weeks. A mandatory orientation session, eight weeks of classes, and a Day of Mindfulness on a Saturday after class 6.

Orientation: Tuesday, February 4th: 4:15-6:45 pm

Weekly Meeting Dates: Tuesdays, February 4th until Tuesday, April 7th.

Weekly Meeting Time: 4:15-6:45 pm

Day of Mindfulness: Saturday, April 4th from 9:45 am until 4 pm.

Requirement: Acceptance into this group requires an individual meeting with Marilia Marien, PhD. to ensure that the group is a good fit at this time.

Location: CAPS, 3624 Market Street, 1st Floor

You must be able to commit to ALL the sessions and the Day of Mindfulness. You cannot continue with the group if you do not attend the orientation and the first session.
