Yoga for Mental Health is an experiential workshop series involving evidence-based yoga and mindful movement techniques. Weekly sessions are held online on Fridays at 3-4 pm from June 5th until June 27th 2020. The workshop provides a supportive space for those interested in practicing mindful movement, and is also tailored to benefit people who have experienced traumatic events.
We will build on practices from week to week, and therefore encourage participants to attend all 4 sessions.
The exercises are gentle, and the setting emphasizes feeling safe and having choices. We will practice simple techniques and coping skills, including stretching, strengthening, breathing, balancing and relaxation, and learn how they can be used in daily life to:
- Relieve stress and anxiety
- Improve concentration and sleep
- Enhance well being
The workshop is not intended as a substitute for psychological or medical treatment.
Friday 3-4 pm
6/5/20 – 6/26/20
Due to closures the class on Friday 19th will be cancelled, and the class on Friday 26th will be rescheduled to Thursday at 3 pm.
